Alternate title: The Sleeping Buddha In 1916, Watanabe published a total of twenty-two Bartlett prints. He began with Indian subjects; the first six were presented in a portfolio titled 1st Series. India. This was followed by a portfolio of six Japanese subjects, titled 2nd Series. Japan. All four prints presented here are from the Japan series, although it is understood that Watanabe offered the prints as a set within the portfolio as well as individual impressions. The presence of the series stamp on this print indicates this particular impression came from one of the portfolio sets.
