Ann Dunlap Alexander (Scottish, b. 1890-?)
Summer Afterglow - Loch Etive Side - Vi
Color woodblock print on fine laid paper. Titled in pencil on the bottom margin at left, Summer Afterglow Loch etive side - VI, and signed at right, Ann Alexander - 1933 -. Self-carved and self-printed by the artist, ca. 1933.
24.4 by 33 cm
Loch Etive is one of the most scenic lochs (lake or inlet) in the Scottish highlands, surrounded by (still) wild countryside and towering mountains.

This print, like the previous work by Edward Knight, is another example of an artist who is relatively unknown on the market, yet was included in the Muller Collection. What little we know about Alexander thus far, her full name and year of birth, comes from the mat which Muller carefully annotated himself.

Provenance:
Robert O. Muller, Newton, Connecticut
