Although Helen Merritt's (1992) Guide to Modern Japanese Woodblock Prints: 1900-1975 places Ito Sozan's active dates between ca. 1919-1926, the distinctively large circular Watanabe publisher seal on this print is generally only found on very early Watanabe-produced prints. For comparison with another print bearing the large Watanabe circular seal, see Hiroaki Shotei's 'Snow on Ayase River' in Highlights of Japanese Printmaking, Part II - Shin Hanga, 2006 (no. 7, also found on this website: search under sold Shotei prints) which is actually dated 1915.
