Paul Binnie, Acropolis, woodblock print
Paul Binnie, Scottish, b. 1967

Travels with the Master: Acropolis - Night
(Meishou To No Tabi: Acropolis no yoru)

signed at lower right in silver kanji, Bin-ni, with red artist's seal Binnie, the series title on the upper left margin, Meisho to no tabi, followed by the print title, Acropolis no yoru; titled in pencil on the bottom margin, Acropolis - night A/P, embossed at the center, Binnie, and signed in pencil, Paul Binnie, ca. October 2006 - May 2007

oban yoko-e 11 7/8 by 16 1/8 in., 30.1 by 40.8 cm

This design was the second Binnie produced for his Travels with the Master series (in homage to Hiroshi Yoshida). A Greek collector commissioned the print, and kept the entire edition of 100 impressions, apparently as gifts for family and friends. This artist's proof, with the signature in silver, seems to vary only slightly from the final version illustrated in 'A Dialogue with the Past'.
