Kawase Hasui, (1883-1957)

Selection of Scenes of Japan: Sakurajima in Kagoshima
(Nihon Fukei Senshu: Kagoshima, Sakurajima)

Signed Hasui with pre-earthquake artist's seal Kawase. The series title cartouche on left margin, Nihon fukei senshu, followed by the print title, Kagoshima Sakurashima, and the date, Taisho juichinen saku (made in Taisho 11 [1922]). With hand-numbered limited edition seal on verso, San-hyaku mai kagiri zeppan, dai rokuju ban (300 limited edition, number 60).
