Utagawa Toyokuni II, (1777-1835)

Eight Famous Views: Night Rain at Oyama

Signed Toyokuni hitsu, with red circular artist's seal Utagawa. The horizontal cartouche with the title, Meisho Hakkei Oyama Yau, followed publisher's seal Ise-Riban (Ise-ya Rihei, Kinjudo). A further description is in the sky to the left of the cartouche, juzen Fudo chojo no zu (view of the peak from Fudo). The censor's kiwame seal is on left margin followed by publisher's archaic seal Ise-Ri, ca. early 1830's.
