Hiroaki (Shotei)

Takahashi Hiroaki (Shotei)

1871-1945

Mt. Fuji from Mizukubo
(Mizukubo)

a nice impression with pink on Fuji's peak, signed Hiroaki with artist's double gourd-shaped seal Hiroaki, the print title on the right margin, Mizukubo, with publisher's 'D' seal Hanken shoyu (copyright reserved) Watanabe Shozaburo, ca. 1936

oban yoko-e 10 1/4 by 15 5/8 in., 26.1 by 39.8 cm

It is interesting to note that the majority of extant impressions of this print (seventeen are accessible at www.ukiyo-e.org) either bear a later Watanabe seal, or no publisher seal at all.
