Onagadori (long-tailed chicken) in Plum Tree
with peach bokashi background; two red artist's seals unread, and publisher's small black 'Ha' (feather) seal in lower right corner, and sealed on verso, Hanken shoyu (copyright ownership) Kakuha Shoten, ca. 1933 (year of the rooster)
otanzaku tate-e 14 7/8 by 6 5/8 in., 37.9 by 16.9 cm
Although the seals on this print are unread, the subject and style suggest this relates to two similar compositions with onagadori perched on a branch set against a pink or blue bokashi background, both signed and sealed by Ishii Tsuruzo (1887-1973) and likewise issued by the same publisher as this print, Toyota Ikunosuke.
