Cat Feathers Red

signed at upper left in kanji, Bin-ni, with artist's red seal BINNIE, numbered and signed in pencil on the bottom margin, Paul Binnie, 2018

aiban tate-e 13 by 9 1/4 in., 33 by 23.5 cm

This 'surprise' aiban-sized print release was inspired by a commissioned portrait of a lady with her cat which the artist completed earlier in 2018. While Mr. Binnie was assured that the model would never commit this naughty act of ripping the feathers from a velvet quilt, he nevertheless could not help but imagine the elegant feline displaying an altogether more mischievous nature.
