sumi ink on paper drawing illlustrating a near final version of the design; the woodblock print signed on the right sheet Yoshu Chikanobu, dated within publisher Fukuda Hatsujiro's double-fish seal, Meiji nijuhachinen sangatsu futsuka insatsu (printed in Meiji 28 [1895] March 2nd), Donen sangatsu itsuka hakko (published in the same year March 5th), Hakkosha Fukuda Hatsujiro, and his seal, Ningyo-cho dori gusokuya han, with block carver's seal, tsugeto (Tsuge Yoshinobu), ca. 1895
