A dramatic bird's eye view of the Hasedera Temple complex located on Mount O-Hatsuse overlooking the valley of the Hase River in present-day Sakurai City in Nara Prefecture. The composition highlights the Staircase Corridor that leads up to the main hall and a five-story pagoda. The corridor was originally built in 1039 by a local priest in gratitude for the recovery of his ill child, and was reconstructed in 1894.
