Scottish, b. 1967

Sleeping Boy: Osamu
(Nemuro otoko: Osamu)

with artist's circular kanji seal at upper right, Bin-ni, followed by square date seal, Heisei kyu nen (Heisei 9 [1997]), numbered, titled and signed in blue pencil on the bottom margin, 14/20, Sleeping Boy: Osamu, Paul Binnie 1997; ca. 1997

dai oban yoko-e 13 1/8 by 19 1/4 in., 33.4 by 49 cm

The blocks for this print were carved with a jigsaw, a technique which allows for quick carving but presents challenges with the actual printing- as all of the blocks need to be inked and printed simultaneously. As a result, Binnie's jigsaw prints were produced in comparatively small editions of 20 impressions.

This appears to be last numbered impression available from a gallery representing the artist.
