hosoban 12 5/8 by 5 1/2 in., 32 by 14 cm

This print illustrates the popular actor Otani Hiroji III (1746-1802), possibly in the role of Hataemon from the play Keisei Azuma Kagami (A Courtesan’s Mirror of the East) written by Sakurada Jisuke (1704-1836) which was performed at the Nakamura Theater on the 2nd month in 1788.
