Onagadori (long-tailed chicken) in Plum Tree

with two red artist's seals unread, and publisher's small red 'Ha' (feather) below, and in lower left margin (trimmed), Hanken shoyu (copyright ownership) Kakuha Shoten, and on verso, Hanken shoyu (copyright ownership) Toyota Ikunosuke, with impressed red stamp 'MADE IN JAPAN', ca. 1933 (year of the rooster)

otanzaku tate-e 15 by 6 5/8 in., 38 by 16.9 cm

Although the seals on this print are unread, the subject and style suggest this relates to two similar compositions with onagadori perched on a branch set against a pink or blue bokashi background, both signed and sealed by Ishii Tsuruzo (1887-1973) and likewise issued by the same publisher as this print, Toyota Ikunosuke.
