ink and color on washi paper; signed Kakunen with artist's square seal Tsuruoka Tokusei, and oval Tsuruoka family seal on verso, n.d., ca. 1942
9 1/2 by 14 3/8 in., 24 by 36.6 cm
Based on the stylish signature similar to that found on his prints from the late 1930s, the use of thick washi paper, and the bands of color in the background, it seems possible that Kakunen produced this painting shortly before or during his confinement at Poston in Arizona.
