Segawa Tsuyahisa, also known as Segawa Enkyu, was born in Tokyo in 1902. He moved to Kyoto to study under the painter Nishiyama Suisho (1879-1858). Tsuyahisa produced paintings (and a small number of woodblock prints), and was known for his prostitutes, bijin, and hina doll subjects. His work was included in the Nitten government-sponsored exhibitions.
