This test print shows Binnie's process in adapting the blocks from the privately commissioned print, Phoenix Dream, which was produced in an extremely small edition size of only 20 impressions in 2006. In response to the popularity of the much-sought-after commissioned print which featured a phoenix emerging from a tattoo, Binnie produced two new designs, Phoenix, and this print, Lingering Dreams. Both compositions utilize the same figure with alterations to the original blocks along with new blocks which changed her clothing, the lighting and colors of the background, as well as the colors and highlights on her hair.

The print is marked by the artist with notes in graphite and red colored pencil within the composition regarding adjusting the saturation and gradation of color in the background and the shading on the figure's shoulders.
